โดยเมื่อเร็วๆ นี้ นิสสัน มอเตอร์ (ประเทศไทย) ร่วมกับพันธมิตรในโครงการ ได้แก่ คณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย, การไฟฟ้าฝ่ายผลิตแห่งประเทศไทย (กฟผ.) และบริษัท ฮ้อปคาร์ จำกัด เปิดโครงการทดสอบการใช้พลังงานไฟฟ้าจากรถยนต์กลับเข้าสู่ระบบจ่ายไฟฟ้า หรือ Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) โดยอาศัยความสามารถในการชาร์จไฟแบบสองทิศทาง (Bi-directional charge) ของ นิสสัน ลีฟ (Nissan LEAF) ที่สามารถใช้ประโยชน์ได้มากกว่าเป็นแค่ยานพาหนะ เพื่อศึกษาการจัดการพลังงานอย่างยั่งยืนในอนาคตร่วมกัน
โดยโครงการนี้เป็นหนึ่งในความมุ่งมั่นของนิสสันในการสร้างสังคมที่ไร้มลพิษ พร้อมยกระดับการเดินทาง และการใช้ชีวิตของผู้คนในสังคมด้วยการขับเคลื่อนจากรถยนต์พลังงานไฟฟ้า และนวัตกรรมทางเทคโนโลยีภายใต้โครงการ Blue Switch ซึ่งถูกริเริ่มมาตั้งแต่ปี 2561 ที่ประเทศญี่ปุ่น
ปัจจุบัน นิสสัน ลีฟ เป็นหนึ่งในรถยนต์ขับเคลื่อนด้วยพลังงานไฟฟ้าที่มีเทคโนโลยีถ่ายเทพลังงานจากยานพาหนะสู่ระบบโครงข่ายไฟฟ้า ซึ่งสามารถนำพลังงานไฟฟ้าจากรถยนต์ไปใช้ในอาคาร ครัวเรือน หรือชาร์จอุปกรณ์ไฟฟ้าในชีวิตประจำวันได้
